Sport Pedagogy

Sport as a catalyst for social chance has been central for every Boxgirls project since 2005. Within Sicher im Kiez!, sports also play an important role.

By utilizing a set of specific boxing techniques, pupils are introduced to age-appropriate strategies of conflict resolution and self-assertion. This allows them to experience their personal strength on a non-violent level and to develop new conflict resolution strategies as a group. The goal of these exercises is to encourage them to approach their feelings about security from another, more instinctive level and to experience how others approach their personal security.
