During the last two weeks of September, two classes from the Janusz Korczak Primary School in Neukölln were able to participate in Sicher im Kiez!. The 5th and 6th grade classes visited the Manna Family Centre, to develop ideas for a more secure neighbourhood. Having completed the project weeks, the students were more than satisfied.

“Now I know that violence doesn’t help and I can use what I have learned at school and at home,” said a 6th grade girl.

Her classmate also learned something: “Sicher im Kiez! taught me how to set my own boundaries.”
The teacher also was very excited about the engaging and productive project week: “Society can only function when people communicate, engage with and support each other. And that is what the kids have experienced during these very intensive, well-instructed days with a lot of fun, but also with the necessary seriousness. It was simply brilliant!”
